The head of the Jewish Agency visited Haifa and met with new immigrantsToday in Haifa, the head of the Jewish Agency, Major General (Res.) Doron Almog, visited the city to review Haifa’s readiness for emergencies, as well as its efforts in receiving and supporting new immigrants.
Together with Mayor Yona Yahav and City Council Member Kirill Karetnik, city representatives presented how Haifa managed crises in recent days and emphasized the importance of continuing to develop the city as a center for immigration for the entire North.
One of the most touching moments of the visit was a meeting at the “Etzion” Ulpan with young immigrants who shared their personal stories and explained why they chose Israel and specifically Haifa.
Kirill Karetnik, Chairman of the Haifa Association for Immigrants Absorption, noted:
“For us, immigrants are not just residents. They are people who chose Israel, chose Haifa, and we have done and will continue to do everything to make them feel at home here. Haifa is a city that welcomes, accepts, and supports.”
The visit ended on a positive note and confirmed that Haifa remains a strong, safe, and welcoming home for all who choose to connect their lives with this city.
