    About

In the 1990s, Haifa welcomed a significant wave of new immigrants, which led to the establishment of the Haifa Association for Immigrants Absorption. The association was founded to centralize and coordinate all activities related to immigrant integration, in close cooperation with the municipality, government ministries, and community organizations. Since then, the association has been accompanying tens of thousands of families in their first steps in Israel—supporting them with housing, Hebrew studies, employment opportunities, social integration, and cultural activities. Its ongoing mission is to ensure that every newcomer finds their place and feels at home in Haifa.

Haifa itself is a city where nature and urban life coexist in harmony. Nestled on the slopes of Mount Carmel and overlooking the bay, Haifa offers breathtaking views and rich Mediterranean forest landscapes. Streams flowing from the Carmel weave through neighborhoods down to the coast, creating a unique mosaic of greens and blues. Residents and visitors alike enjoy an abundance of marked hiking trails, just steps away from residential areas, as well as a wide variety of wildlife that brings the community closer to nature.

The city is home to about 250 gardens and parks, eight beaches and promenades, and an educational zoo showcasing species from diverse ecological systems. As a recognized green city, Haifa also operates an advanced air monitoring system, maintaining some of the highest air quality values among Israel’s major cities. Known for its quiet, well-kept character, Haifa combines a European flair with large beaches and a high quality of life. Together with the welcoming spirit of its people and the support of the Haifa Association for Immigrants Absorption, the city offers newcomers not only a place to live, but a true community in which to thrive.
