On August 4th, the government approved the plan of the Ministry of Aliyah, allowing new immigrants to start the process of obtaining a license even before arriving in Israel.Upon arrival, new immigrants will be able to start working in their profession with temporary licenses!
- All ministries will allow new immigrants who have opened a “repatriation file” (Tik Aliyah) at Israeli consulates in their country of origin to apply for a professional license and receive approval that will take effect from the first day of their repatriation. This procedure will take effect from October 1, 2024.
- The Ministry of Aliyah and Integration will be authorized to recognize the higher education of new immigrants, which will shorten the process. This procedure will take effect from January 1, 2025.
- A unified government center will be established, concentrating all information about procedures and requirements for obtaining professional licenses, including a portal and applications in different languages. The center will be established by January 1, 2025.
