Last night, the eyes of not only Israel but of the whole world were fixed on our north, which was under one of the most intense bombardments in recent years. My evening and part of the night were spent at work. During breaks between meetings at the city’s crisis management center, I was able to speak with journalists from Channel 9. I explained that the city had been preparing for such a scenario for months, so all emergency services are working efficiently, communicating with each other.
Municipal staff are on duty at the center in shifts, monitoring the situation. Haifa is divided into 5 districts, with social and law enforcement agencies working in each one. Additional public bomb shelters are being installed, and the condition of existing public and residential shelters is being monitored. I would like to note that the Haifa Association for Immigrants Absorption is starting to provide elderly people living in our affiliated hostels with food and essential supplies.
I am confident that the city is ready, we are strong, and thanks to our army and our unity! Am Israel Chai! Take care of yourselves and don’t forget to follow the Home Front Command’s instructions.
