Artur Smolyaninov is widely known for his role as Lyutyi — the “Afghan” from the cult film “9th Company,” as well as for many vivid roles in cinema and theater. But in recent years, his name has taken on a new meaning. In 2022, Artur openly spoke out against the war, for which he was stripped of his profession, declared a “foreign agent” and “extremist,” and forced to leave Russia.
“Most likely, forever,” he says. And despite all the trials, Artur found the strength not only to continue, but to start anew: he recorded music, formed the band cheLovek, shot music videos, and took the stage with new songs and a new inner voice.
Today he tours the world with a program he calls “cinema-rock”: each song is like a microfilm, with its own character and its own drama. His music is live, honest, written to his own lyrics, performed with guitar. It is a story passed through the heart. It is a heartfelt conversation.
At concerts, Artur not only sings — he shares stories, answers questions, and talks to the audience as friends. Warmly, directly, without masks. Each evening is a meeting filled with light, nostalgia, humor, and hope.
From September 9 to 13, Artur Smolyaninov and cheLovek — in Israel.
Music.
Honest conversation.
And the strength to be yourself.
