Hebrew During the Holidays: Summer Ulpan in Haifa Opens New Opportunities

    14/08/2024
Today, the Summer Ulpan organized by the Haifa Association for Immigrants Absorption, chaired by City Council member Kirill Karetchnik, opened in Haifa. The Ulpan is located at the Dror School in Kiryat Eliezer and offers unique opportunities for new immigrants who have settled in Haifa in recent months: both children and their parents.About 100 people have already started classes at the Ulpan. At the same time, 4 groups have been opened for middle and high school students, as well as one group for parents. Intensive classes are conducted 5 days a week, from morning until noon, for two weeks. This is an excellent opportunity for the children of new immigrants to improve their Hebrew and prepare for the upcoming school year (especially for those who have not yet stepped foot in an Israeli school), and for their parents to get better acquainted with the Israeli education system.

Classes at the Summer Ulpan are taught by experienced and qualified teachers. They will help children acquire basic vocabulary, learn the rules of school life in Israel, and provide the necessary emotional support before the new school year. Parents are also actively learning and participating in seminars where they receive answers to questions about the education system in Israel and learn about opportunities for new immigrants.

The Summer Ulpan in Haifa is a great example of integration and support for new families who have moved to Israel. This initiative promotes the development of language skills and confidence in a new environment, as well as gaining educational experience in Israel. After all, knowing Hebrew is not only a key to successful school studies but also to a deeper understanding of the culture and life in our country.
